The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.
Our Church is a local hub and centre of influence in our local Ottawa community. Our activities include programming for men, women, youth, children, singles, parents, seniors and our community at large. Activities that we conduct include monthly Seniors Clubs, Friday evening vespers, meal services for the homeless, Family camping opportunities, uniformed clubs similar to Scouts, fundays, sporting events, retreats and training opportunities. Our largest activities are weekly Worship and Prayer Services on Saturdays and Wednesdays. All services, activities and programs are open to and serve the local members of the church and the local community that the church is located in.
Camp Wanarunarownd is one of our community programs that is geared towards children. Summer camp is a unique opportunity for kids to develop new, lasting relationships with their peers, develop their confidence, and learn new skills -- all while having fun! Unfortunately, many such activities place a large financial burden on families, which means that some children are not able to participate. Our goal is to provide this opportunity to children in Ottawa at an affordable cost to eliminate the cost barrier to families.
